Hi everyone, im kinda worried. My rent is set up for automatic withdrawal on the 1st of each month. But this month the 1st falls on a Sunday and Monday is a holiday. Does anyone know if itll come out on Tuesday (the 3rd)? I dont want to be considered late with my rent

Don’t worry about it. When rent is due on a weekend or holiday, it typically processes on the next business day. This is standard banking practice. Just make sure you keep the funds available in your account until the withdrawal goes through. Your LL cannot consider you late in this situation as it’s a banking system limitation, not your fault.

my LL always complains when this happens but what can we do?? banks r closed!!
To clarify: As long as you have the funds available in your account, you’re fulfilling your obligations as a tenant. The processing delay due to holidays/weekends is a banking system issue, not a late payment. Your landlord cannot charge you any late fees or claim you’re in arrears for this situation. Keep a screenshot of your bank balance showing the funds were available on the 1st if you’re worried.

as a LL i always tell my tennants to setup the automatic withdrawl for the 28th to avoid this exact problem
